So, I stopped at Boston Market for some dinner before going to take photos last night, started eating, and thought that the food could use some salt. I looked on the table, and there was a pepper shaker, but no salt. In its place was this placard. You can't read it all, but it says that the salt is located at their beverage center. The reasoning is that they are trying to cut back on customer's salt intake. I was going to go get some, but you know what? I didn't. Not because I didn't want to walk over and get it, but because it made we think twice about really needing more salt. Genius! They still offer it if you really want it, but they make you think twice. Love this kind of marketing!

Awesome new packaging from Suave. They have a new line of shampoos and conditioners that are botanical in nature. The packaging speaks very well to this, from the graphics, to the color choices, to the wavy die cut on the packaging. They are comparing their products to Aveda products, and the packaging looks very similar, but not infringing. The price point is great, as usual with Suave products. And I LOVE that they have pump dispensers! No more wrestling with trying to open lids with wet, slippery hands. Kudos to you Suave!

This is a point of purchase display that I created for my packaging class. The frame at the top would be playing lifestyle photos portraying the vineyard and consumers enjoying the wine. I built the pop in Illustrator, enhanced it in Photoshop, then placed it in this liquor store photo from the internet.

Package redesign
I am taking the advice of my portfolio reviewer and working on redesign of an existing package. It really is geeky just how much I enjoy this stuff!

Cool new packaging
I got these bags of apples and peppers at the store today. They are very cool. The product looks very appealing in them, and there is more of an opportunity for graphics and text on these over the traditional bags. On the apple bag, there is a Facebook icon on the front, and a QR code on the back. Pretty nifty!
